politico ^ | 7/4/10 | JONATHAN MARTIN

The dust-up this week between President Barack Obama and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), ostensibly about Wall Street regulation, revealed more about the two parties’ midterm campaign strategies than anything else.

With polls showing voters deeply concerned about the economy and government spending and souring on Democrats, Obama and his party are seizing on gaffe after GOP gaffe, intent on making the election anything but a referendum on the majority.

The supposed gaffes (sp?) are too sophisticated for the Democrats, and most Republicans, to properly ridicule or criticize.

In fact, the Democrats, and Senator DeMint are pretty much reduced to the "Hey, he said sh*t" school of thought on the matter (when he really said "Shi'ite" and didn't mean "sh*t" at all).

We have a lot of Senator DeMint fans here so maybe you can answer this ~ why does he imagine he gets some political advantage from devolving into hillbilly thinking every now and then? Isn't he supposed to be of above average intelligence?

Best get him straight on that stuff or his opponent will be pulling down beau coup bucks from outside agitators.

See the Leftist clown posse at Politco have given up even pretending to be serious journalists.

Perhaps instead of desperatly spinning for team Obama, these supposed “journalists” might go ask Craig Deeds and the Virginal Democrat party how well this standard Democrat campaign play book of lies, demagoguery and shrill hysteric ranting works with voters this election cycle.

In other words, the media and democrats plan a campaign based upon childish mischaracterizations and quotes out of context because they've got NOTHING ELSE.

I hate these people.

Newsbusters had a story, by Norah ODonnel, about Boehner - “that he likes his drinks and likes his butts” later she came back and said it was about smoking. If he is drinking all night and chasing anything but his wife, we know why he does a crap job as minority leader - he is a drunk. The media let the cat out of the bag - time to let him go. We need workers not drunks...with a phoney tan.

For Republicans, the strategy is the opposite—a macro-approach in which they brush off the excesses of individual candidates or isolated blunders by reiterating a big-picture mantra that Americans are sick of the spending and job losses that haven’t taken place on the majority party’s watch.

Nice proofreading they do at Politico.
