Oh, and maybe something to do with the "rain of ashes" form the fireworks. That's one of the reasons some of my friends come in for the holiday. They call it "In Your Face Fireworks" because you leave covered in ash and sometimes burned!
A couple of hot ones landed near us last night but no one got hit.

When we got back to my inlaws neighborhood last night, (we dropped them off), the whole place smelled like fireworks and lots of smoke. Geez, the entire neighborhood must have been setting them off!
