We are at war. The casualties are mounting, The budget keeps bleeding, and the Democrats keep spending
The United States of America is in great peril. Absent drastic and immediate intervention, America as we know it will cease to exist. Americans are quite adept at the art of denial. But, if we dont begin to recognize the gut-wrenching truth that we screwed things up by putting an illegitimate usurper in the most powerful office on Earth and that said usurper has been systematically dismantling and destroying our economy, military, middle-class, social structure and Constitution, its game over.
The numbers dont lie. While Obama spins rising GDP and a falling unemployment rate as proof that his economic policies are making our economy stronger, the Thief-In-Chief is engaging in a campaign of bald-faced lies and he knows it. Our economy is essentially dying, the victim of institutionalized chaos and growing uncertainty. The only thing keeping it alive at this point is money seized from those who earned it and given to those who didnt, while the government coerces them into buying cars, or appliances to prop up the federal government, or its major propagandists and campaign contributors at General Electric and SEIU.
No matter how hard Obama tries to deflect criticism to his predecessor or blame foreign markets, millions of Americans whose jobs have evaporated, whose small businesses have been shuttered and whose taxes will increase next year to pay the trillions in debt he put on the nations balance sheet know better. While government continues to spend, small businesses continue to stagnate or die, jobs continue to disappear, debt continues to rise, the American people continue to lose confidence, and the warnings become more dire. Economists are now openly discussing the very real possibility of a double-dip recession.

Return senator selection to the pre-1912 method whereby they were selected by their respective state legislators. Further, the stipend paid these senators would be borne by the state. This would result in senators being paid differing amounts which is only right.
Why should a rat like Leahy (D-VT) receive the same compensation for doing his 'duty' as say, Sessions (R-AL) whose work far outpaces Leahy's as beneficial to the nation? And no six year terms, nor pensions, nor medical care!
The numbers don't, but the politicians do. . . . .
Your argument seems to have a kink in it. If each state paid their own Senator what would stop VT from paying Leahy more than Alabama pays Sessions?
The state income and budget (remember when those things were used?) would control it. I’m against ANY federal laws that would dictate how much money would be paid and how many perks would be distributed!
Further, there would be absolutely no reason for the appointed senator, or representative, to live in Washington. Due to our miraculous electronic age all voting and meetings could occur over the interNUT.
This would keep our representatives close to us and to the barrel of tar and the bag of feathers.
When the depression comes, I intend to hold dim-bulb-crats PERSONALLY responsible.
We’ll define that in greater detail right after we finish construction of the guillotine.
If Congress is ever taken over by RIGHT-thinking Americans, the first thing they could accomplish would be to eliminate this moronic commie’s expense account.
Then move his overfed family into a pup tent on the WH lawn while the mansion is razed. Who would want to live in a place that had been destroyed by communist goons?
We are way beyond that point. The money being used to prop up this administration and its enablers in the Congress does not exist. It's not been earned and to the extent it's being printed it's worth absolutely nothing. There's nothing backing it up.
We're stealing from our children and their children and we're letting them produce money where none exists.
It's a debt-death spiral and it shows absolutely no signs of being corrected, much less stopped.
If we suddenly came to our financial senses today and took the Draconian measures needed to correct the problem it would take us a decade or more to get back to where we were before LBJ et al brought us their evil.
I have for the past few months been suggesting that “guillotine construction parties” be held in place of the “tea parties”.
I like the idea of dispersing the legislature and I suppose the salary amount would depend on how badly a state wanted good government. At least it would make it more expensive for the lobbyists and whores to track them down. The legislators would no longer have the expense of supporting two households, either.
D.C. could remain an administrative center and a national museum.
Alas, I fear the idea has about as much chance of becoming reality as the Fair Tax.
Point made and true but let’s stop calling this a double dip recession and call it what it is, a “Double Drop Depression”. People can’t get jobs, the economy is not creating jobs and the economy isn’t creating much of anything useful anymore.
obastard has simply aggravated and capitalized on a situation that has been in the making for the last decade or two... too many jobs have been exported by greed and a non-business friendly government. We’ve simply taxed, regulated, right-sized, down-sized otherwise destroyed the capacity to produce stuff in this country.
We gave our jobs away and we gave away the where-with-all that creates a strong, productive middle class who can buy the stuff we consume. Maybe we just have too much junk anyway.
Good! Better we restore her to the "America as we knew it."
