Dubai Rejects Full-Body Scanners Because They 'Contradict Islam'

Dubai airports will not use hi-tech full-body scanners because they "contradict Islam" and violate passengers' privacy, according to reports — even though the scanners can detect terrorist threats like those posed by the Christmas Day bomber.
Neither of Dubai's two airports will use the scanners "out of respect for the privacy of individuals and their personal freedom," the head of airport security for the emirate told Al-Bayan daily, AFP reported.

And now Dubai shows more concern for the privacy of individuals and their personal freedom than the TSA. Muslim terrorists panic our government into outrageous intrusions on our privacy, but Muslim governments refuse to subject their people to the same treatment. The world is certifiably insane.

They have made their decision. Now we need to make a clear decision on what passenger screening requirements we require others to have before their planes are allowed to enter our airspace.
If they don't meet our requirements, they should have to fly to a country that does meet our requirements before coming here.

I find those scanners that show a naked body to be disgusting and ripe for abuse....They definately are a privacy issue....no different that having to strip while in line....or go into a little room with the watcher and strip for just him or her......I wouln’t fly from a airport that uses them...
