ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Levi Johnston has acknowledged telling lies about Sarah Palin and her family after splitting with the former Alaska governor's daughter last year.
The 20-year-old tells People magazine in an online story posted Tuesday that since his untrue statements were made in public, "I owe it to the Palins to publicly apologize."

Yeah to me forgiveness is one thing and trust is another. With someone like Levi, you gotta be careful, he is not trustworthy at all. I wouldn’t trust him with a 10 foot pole. You know the reason why he is doing this is because his 15 minutes of fame is up and he wants back in the fold. Forgiveness, yeah I bet Sarah has already forgiven him, but trust..no way does she trust him. Not after everything he has done and been proven to do. The second he gets upset he will jump ship and go to the National Enquirer with some more lies. That is the kind of person he is
If this is true and sincere, then I have to say he manned up a bit over the past year. Swallowing one’s pride and apologizing—especially so publicly cannot be easy. I pray that he has also had a *real* come to Jesus moment! :^)
It is for the Palins to forgive, and as deep as their faith is, I imagine they have forgiven him.
I suppose he will now be kicked to the curb by the Hollywood and media elite. It will be a great lesson to him. The Hollywood and media elite will have learned nothing. Dogs to their own vomit and all that.

I would say the child support agreement was about to nail him between the eyes. Be nice or I will take you for everything. I am sure Bristol got good legal advise that deal with the some of her problems.
I have no doubt that he will do this. However, I don’t think that liberals will ever forgive him. He will be considered “dead” to them. That is a big difference between us and them. There have been other people who have “seen the light” (not saying that he has seen the light yet), and apologized for their ways and they never got back into the liberal’s fold even when they returned back to their old ways...Unfortunately I don’t have any examples right now but I do know that it has happened before.

He has had his 10 minutes of fame and now knows without the palins he will never have another.. this is self serving
Exactly and some of the fame as well..
Two thoughts:
1. As someone who has been forgiven on more than one occasion when I deserved no forgiveness, I hope that his heart is sincere and that he is truly sorry for what he did.
2. The way the Palins handle this will be a testament to their character that will speak volumes to regular Americans.

I am unaware that you were put in charge of posts on this site. You obviously want sensorship which I believe over at DU they applaud. I really believe you would feel more at home over there. If you want to stay here than don’t demand folks say things that only make you feel happy. You should accept that not every post is going to be to your liking and you either accept it or don’t post. That is the cost of freedom that unfortunately you don’t seem to desire.
