(The Muslim) Barack Obama: Nasa must try to make Muslims 'feel good'

Charles Bolden, a retired United States Marines Corps major-general and former astronaut, said in an interview with al-Jazeera that Nasa was not only a space exploration agency but also an "Earth improvement agency".

Mr Bolden said: "When I became the Nasa administrator, he [Mr Obama] charged me with three things.

"One, he wanted me to help reinspire children to want to get into science and math; he wanted me to expand our international relationships; and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

He added: "It is a matter of trying to reach out and get the best of all worlds, if you will, and there is much to be gained by drawing in the contributions that are possible from the Muslim [nations]."

Gee gosh and golly. Nothing I’d rather see our tax dollars go to than making Muzzies (who delight in beheading innocent Jews and Christians) feel oh-so-good about their little pathetic selves.

Guess Obambi didn’t get the memo that the Muslim world is still stuck in the 12th century. Go figure.

I always thought that the primary way NASA could make people feel good about themselves is to land the space ship right side up. Is there an addition to the mission statement now?

If this is all they have to spend their[our]money on, just don’t bother.

Want to save big bucks? Shut down NASA. Its not like we are doing anything space related....

If muslims want to feel good they could try waking up and joining the 21st century. The 7th century is vastly over-rated from a feel-good, self-image perspective.

What could possibly make them feel better than blowing up the ISS?

Soon we won’t even have an operable space shuttle to fly into skyscrapers.

Which contributions are those? Beheading Christians and Jews? Stoning their own women to death for just about anything and everything? Using children to deliver suicide nail bombs? How does Space Exploaration fit in with a society that is mirred in the 7th Century?

The only technical and engineering contribution made by muslims is the development of the IED, hardly something to be proud of.

their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering.

So what have they done in the last 15,000 years?

This story is being reported in a lot of places. Might end up being seen as a real gaffe on the part of the administration. Of course if some member of the GWB team had revealed such an asinine bit of “policy” they would be demanding the administrator resign and the president would be trashed by the elite media.

In any case I say Republicans should run ads with Bolden’s comments in FL and other states where the space industry is big this fall. Just might help them gain some ground, especially in areas that stand to lose a lot of jobs. They should be more incensed now knowing that this administration’s top priority for the space agency is NOT to explore space.

[T]here is much to be gained by drawing in the contributions that are possible from the Muslim [nations].

If the muslims have so much to contribute, why do we need to make them "feel good" about their accomplishments?
