Washington, D.C. (07-01-10) – Testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the Elena Kagan Supreme Court nomination, AUL President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest on Thursday told a packed assembly that not only should the Senate reject her nomination, the senators should investigate discrepancies between her written record and her testimony to the committee.

Testifying for a second time since 2009 regarding a Supreme Court nominee’s suitability, Dr. Yoest urged the committee to officially investigate “discrepancies that have arisen this week” regarding actions Kagan took while working for then President Clinton on the Partial Birth Abortion (PBA) ban legislation.

KEYWORDS: discrepencies; kagan; testimony
Charmaine Yoest makes a very good arguement that Supreme Court nominee Kagan committed perjury in her Senate confirmation testimony. What do you think?

None of this matters. Dems have the votes. Reps won't filibuster -- which is the only weapon they have. Even if they did, doubtful if they could keep all their members (Brown, Snowe, Collins, et.al.) in line.

We should all realize by now that Kagan could be Beelzebub himself, and if 0 nominates her, his fellow leftists will confirm, no questions asked.

As has been said many times here before, elections have consequences.

I think one of the funniest and most blatant liberal lies I ever heard was when a repub senator (was it Hatch?) last week asked Kagan about a letter authored by Kagan concerning her helping Clinton keep partial birth murder legal, and during the questioning by the senator, Kagan first denied any knowledge of said letter but eventually admitted it did seem to be in her own HANDWRITING! ARG.
Well, I always keep in mind that liberals kill babies without batting an eye and keep abortion as their main evil sacrament, therefore no lesser crime of any kind causes them any uneasyness. Lies and damn lies are really of no concern to them. They answer to socialism, not to a Higher Power.

"None of this matters. Dems have the votes."

Should the Republicans at least investigate the issue and present the conclusions to the public? Should they at least make the Democrats admit publicly that they are voting a perjurer to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court?

Any delaying tactic should be used at this point. It would be ideal if her nomination could held back until January at the earliest.

Sure. Do that. Won't change the fact that Kagan's going to be on the SC for the next 30 years, helping to fashion unconstitutional, un-American court decisions as she goes. And, if history is any indication, if the Repubs point out her shortcomings, the MSM will successfully paint them as small-minded, vindictive whiners, and 0 and the Dems will make hay on that.

Sorry, enough is going on with our beloved country to make me pessimistic.
