The prosecutor got the verdict he and the government wanted.

In almost all cases, a prosecutor can manipulate the trial to get the verdict he wants when the defendant is another government employee. You’ve heard the saying that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich? That same prosecutor can almost always not get an indictment if that is the result he wants.

I would bet good money if this was a black cop who screwed up and shot a white kid he would have gotten off with the lightest sentence possible or even acquitted
