A reader just sent us evidence of GOP guv candidate Meg Whitman's latest outreach to Latino voters: A Spanish-language billboard saying she (would have) opposed Proposition 187 and opposes the controversial Arizona immigration law.
The billboard, spotted on Highway 99 about 2 miles north of Earlimart in Tulare County, says:
"NO a la Proposicion 187 y NO a la Ley de Arizona -- Meg Whitman."
...As we told you about a while back -- and again during our rundown of this week's Field Poll on the guv's race -- Whitman is trying to distance herself from her campaign chair's Pete Wilson's championing of Prop 187. Her campaign has acknowledged the Republicans haven't done a good job reaching out to Latinos.

Meg, Meg, Meg....
You can’t out-pander the Democrats, they’ll simply “outbid” you on that front.
The only thing this woman has going for her is that she’s not Jerry Brown.
She just lost the race.
And if she loses, she deserves to. Enough of this pandering to this group and that! If she’s running for governor, she needs to be representing everyone and assuring voters that she will enforce the laws of the land.
I am afraid that Mz Whitman is just another Trojan horse RINO.
She totally turned me off when I heard her praise for Van Jones, the Marxist.
Rather than sending a clear image, they sent a fuzzy video. I, for one, would like to see the fine print on the bottom of that billboard in order to see who is responsible.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Democrats misquoted the GOP on a billboard. When Ronald Reagan was governor of California, he vetoed attempts by the legislature to implement income tax withholding. He stated that “taxes should hurt”. He reasoned that withholding would enable the state to raise income taxes, which it subsequently did. However, during the next campaign the Democrats put up a billboard in Orange County which said:
“Taxes should hurt!” — Ronald Reagan
Ouch!!
I said from the start that she’s a retard.
I learned all I needed to know about her when I saw she donated the maximum to Sen Boxer in 2004 and served on her re-election committee.
“She just lost the race.”
You beat me to it.
Did anyone specifically ask her these questions in the primary? If so, is there a recording of such?
I second the motion. All in favor say 'Aye'.
CHELENE NIGHTINGALE FOR GOVERNOR
Exactly. No more California RINO/MCCAIN wing votes!
Enough of this crappola. Whitman just insured Brown winning, why should I waste my vote on this pretend ‘conservative’.

A better choice for governor...
CHELENE NIGHTINGALE FOR GOVERNOR
So what? The GOP has done a worse job of reaching out to law abiding American citizens.
What an idiotic and suicidal thing to do, when every poll is showing that Americans want to end illegal immigration by something like 70%.
I read a poll today (think it was from Zogby) that polled “Political voters”, which I assume is the elected class. Not surprisingly, that demographic rejects the Arizona immigration law by 70%.
In yet another story, polls run in all 50 states show that the majority of Americans want their states to enact an Arizona-style anti-illegal immigration law.
Meg, you’re a stupid, pandering pol, who’s going to lose.
