Sorry Guy[s], but I want to go to an AR-10. I love the punch of a 7.62 mm, for a rifle & a good old fashioned .45 Colt for a side arm. I do go on the “spray & pray” idea of a gun fight.

Sorry, that should say I do not go on the “spray & pray” method in a gun fight. But I do try to make each and every round count for something....

Sorry Guy[s], but I want to go to an AR-10. I love the punch of a 7.62 mm, for a rifle & a good old fashioned .45 Colt for a side arm. I have an AR-10 and an FN-FAL. The old FAL is much more resistant to sand and works better in the desert. The SCAR comes in .308, so the choice between the AR-10 and SCAR isn't about caliber.

There are a lot higher end AR-10s than mine. I will say it is a tack driver, nearly as accurate out to 300 yards as my two favorite bolt guns. Also, it has a flat top, so you can scope it. The FN-FAL has no provision for a scope.

The thing is FN makes a bunch of our US military weapons: the squad auto, the bigger machine gun, crew fired weapons. I think they have more ability to create a 21st century fighting rifle that is superiour than the more-or-less civilian oriented companies like DPMS, Bushmaster and Armalite.

The Knights Armament AR-10 is probably the best, and has been developed for the Navy.
