John McCain ditches his liberal past and turns hard right

The Republican 'maverick' bends in the wind of Tea Party-style politics

When does being a maverick turn into a shameless flip-flopper? Pretty much about now, according to many observers of the long and storied political career of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Senator McCain, pictured, is now caught in one of the toughest political fights of his life, facing off in a primary fight against the Tea Party-style challenger JD Hayworth. And he is doing it in Arizona, which has just passed a strict anti-illegal immigrant law so controversial the White House is taking it to court.

All this means that McCain's traditionally liberal attitudes to immigration reform were always likely to take a bit of a hit. But few people can have predicted just how far McCain would go in rowing away from the previous positions that won him praise as recently as 2007 when he co-sponsored reform legislation with famed liberal Senator Ted Kennedy.

“When does being a maverick turn into a shameless flip-flopper?”

Watching McShame’s obviously insincere and over-the-top impersonation of a conservative during the campaign season would be comical if there wasn’t a chance he would be elected. But the thought that some people are buying it tells you have uninformed and even stupid the electorate can be.

He is sincere and solidly Conservative. Until November. Then it will be time to party with his lefty friends, both socially and politically.

“’No amnesty,’ he told a Tucson radio station, adding: ‘Many of them need to be sent back.’”

If (heaven forbid!) McShame is reelected, we’ll find out that by “many” he means about 43 out of the 20,000,000 illegals here. The rest will deserve “a path to citizenship”.

Arizonans—you’ve led the way this year in great state legislation. Don’t throw away that sterling record by sending this jerk back to the Senate.

Once re-elected he’s sure to turn left, as usual.

Seriously — why is it so hard for McCain to call it a day, and retire?

This company would make a fortune if they replaced the angel with a profile of McCain.

Many people who'd been objectively observing the weasel for many years could have and did predict it. But it is interesting that once again it seems a British newspaper will put things in plainer and more accurate terms than most any MSM outlet in the US.

McCain is a POS. Just like John Glenn, anything McCain did while in the military has been negated by his anti-american acts after he turned into a politician.
