Libs change the Constitution with the bang of a gavel and they complain if a conservative comes up with an idea to use the actual constitutional process for amending the constitution that takes years and lots of support to accomplish.

And there's more to discuss on digg: http://digg.com/political_opinion/Conservatives_vs_The_Constitution_Make_Up_Your_Minds

By the way, have the libs ever noticed that there’s already an amendment to the Constitution that repeals a previous amendment to the Constitution?

What does George W. Bush have to do with Conservativism?

Why should we? Libs don’t give a durn about the law and make it up as they go. I’m sick of playing fair while the other team cheats. Screw them.

Exactly, it better than how libs like to rule things via judicial insurgents.

This is why conservatives need to fight back using every tactic available to them.

‘Conservatives now believe it’s time to start repealing some of the old ones.’

The left would LOVE to repeal the 2nd Amendment, and use the judiciary system to place limits on the 1st.

Hypocrites.

....supporting at least six different proposed amendments to the Constitution...Bush "really seems to think the Constitution is just a rough draft."...

Errr.. Constitutional Amendments are by definition, Constitutional.

Inconsistent article. The title is “Conservatives vs The Constitution, Make Up Your Minds”

And then it says

“Indeed, by the mid-point of his presidency, George W. Bush...”

W was not a conservative. It might as well have used Bill Clinton.

Does this liberal realize that Constitutional amendments are Constitutional? The process to do so is in the Constitution itself.

What Conservatives have a problem with is when laws are written that bypass the Constitution and Amendments or ignore them all together.

Really, what a FREAKING MORON. Thats the way you are SUPPOSED to do things, by adding/modifying things to the Constitution. It is very hard to do so, BY DESIGN. Thats the "conservative" way of doing it.

Liberals, on the other hand, use the courts in a devious and backhanded manner, to effect change, it is absolutely NOT the way it was intended.

Liberals are the stupidest group of people who think they are smart.

Broad stroke to say that conservatives support, first lie is saying bush and conservative in the same sentence. Some conservatives may support would be a better term. And I do think some should be removed.

I’m sorry — right off the bat, this is a false dichotomy, and I’m getting FED UP with FULL OF IT Libertarians who think they were crapped out of Jefferson’s butt and have all of the answers now that the Conservatives have done the yeomen’s work since the day’s Reagan and for DECADES before!

I am a Constitutional Conservative. Libertarians have an UNREALISTIC view of the DANGERS of the REAL world today. PERIOD. They desire isolation and neutrality. Our enemies WILL NOT PERMIT US that luxury. PERIOD. To acknowledge that is NOT unconstitutional — it’s COMMON SENSE. Ronald Reagan understood this. As he said, “the reality is we must find Peace through Strength.”

So, Libertarians, STOP trying to separate Conservatives from OUR Constituion. STOP trying your holier-than-thou “we decide what the Constitution means” games. WRONG. The Founders did that. And they DIDN’T compromise our Security to satisfy their craven cowardice, greed, ignorance, lack of principles or personal vices.

If Libertarians wish to side with Liberofascists like Obama in BLAMING America for the conflicts in the world, then they should be COUNTED as enemies of liberty, NOT as “Sons of Liberty.” To believe in Liberty, one must be WILLING to DEFEND it.

(1) prohibiting flag burning; (2) victims' rights; (3) banning abortion; (4) requiring a balanced budget; (5) prohibiting same-sex marriage; and (6) allowing state-endorsed prayer in public schools.

Oh the utter horror! Protecting the flag of our nation, the unborn children and the economy while putting the brakes on queers and saying a prayer for our future.

What a monster! We should nuke Dallas, it's the only way to be sure...

SNAP... back to reality,,,

What the little commie-wannabe is really moaning about is repealing two of the amendments that have resulted in the worst offenders to the Founding Fathers Original Intent.

The 16th, which allows the federal government to collect income tax. The 17, which allows senators to be directly elected.

Which is ironic as the very next one, the 18th, created Probation, which is a clear example of getting rid of a BAD IDEA, via the 21st.

The commie-wannabe is just pizzing and moaning because a couple of Amendments that have resulted in the biggest problems from the fed-gov are finally getting some light shined on them.

Original Intent baby, ORIGINAL INTENT.

.

Is not abortion worse than slavery? What happened to a right to LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
