What he in effect is doing is relaxing the diagnostic criteria for PTSD to a point where anyone can make a claim and it cannot be checked out objectively. It is a boon to those authentic casualties who have had to wait for the butreaucratic gears to grind interminably, but it is also a license to steal.

And it will be abused, make no mistake. It opens the door to every kind of personality disorder in the books. We already are paying large sums in "disability" to vets who were never even in combat, despite best efforts by VA clinicians. This will enable abuses to multiply.

except you still need a VA psych to say you have it. Being in a combat zone will make the first steps easier but does anyone think the VA doc will just rubber stamp it?

I think this is a publicity stunt to make 0dumbo look all caring about the military
