Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta is among a group of national dignitaries who will attend a fundraiser in Philadelphia on Wednesday supporting Arizona's illegal immigration law.
The Big Talker 1210 AM radio will run a live remote broadcast of the fundraiser at Geno's Steaks from 6 to 10 p.m. Barletta; Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer; Arizona state Sen. Russel Pearce, who authored the state's controversial immigration bill; Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and Pennsylvania state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, who supports a similar law for Pennsylvania, are scheduled to participate.
Barletta, who's running against Paul Kanjorski for the 11th Congressional District seat, has forged a friendship with Geno's Steaks owner Joey Vento over the years.
Vento a few years ago donated to a legal defense fund for Hazleton's proposed Illegal Immigration Relief Act. In 2008, Vento, his wife and son contributed to Barletta's congressional campaign.

Anybody on the ground in this district have an update on where the Barletta- Kanjorski race stands now and what needs to happen in the next few months to ensure that Barletta wins the seat?
