Folks you’ve got to listen to the video of Gibb’s statement.

He specifically states, “I do not think... ah, that this was his task, and this is not the task of NASA.”

By slip of the tongue or whatever, he actually said...

“I do not think this was not his task...”

“I do not think this was not the task of NASA.”

The double negative status, means he just said he thinks this was the task of the NASA administrator and NASA.

He didn’t lie.
