Harry Reid: Ya, sure I support the lawsuit against Arizona (63% of Nevadans Oppose it)
Hotair ^ | 07/12/2010 | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 07/12/2010 2:11:16 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

That’s the big takeaway from this interview of Harry Reid by a Nevada television station this weekend, but it’s not the only point of hilarity. The interviewer starts off by asking Reid how he can make an argument that Sharron Angle would be worse in office than Democrats who currently control Congress, and Reid answers by saying that Bush lost 3 million jobs, er, too. Reid then defends the economic policies of this administration and Congress by touting the effects of the homebuyer tax credit and Cash for Clunkers, two programs that did nothing but steal future sales. The housing market just collapsed due to the expiration of the tax credit — which Reid then misleadingly claims to have extended (only the closing date was extended; no new sales are permitted). But John McCormack at the Weekly Standard picks up on the one endorsement that will probably cost Reid the independents he needs:

JON RALSTON: “So that is a yes, you support the administration’s lawsuit?”

HARRY REID: “I think it is important that we determine what the . . .”

JON RALSTON: “So that is a yes right?”

HARRY REID: “Ya, sure.”

As John notes, the last Rasmussen poll of likely voters from three weeks ago shows that 63% of Nevadans oppose such a lawsuit, and only 29% support it. Among independents, it’s even worse, 25/65. Only 44% of Democrats support the lawsuit — and 43% oppose it.

If Reid is hoping to convince people that Angle is the extremist, he’s doing his best to make Angle’s point instead.

“The NRA supports slimy Reid.”

Is that official? This Life Member wants to know, because I’ll resign if it’s true.

Please give them a call and report back. I told AARP where to shove my money. I’m sure there are millions who would do the same if the NRA leadership has lost their minds.

Check out the NRA-ILA web site and search for Clark County, Nevada shooting range. A story was posted there with pictures of LaPierre, Chris Cox and slimy Reid. He got $61 million in pork to build this shooting range.

If you are a gun owner like I am - I would rather support the local range then have Uncle Sam spend a fortune for a govt owned range.

The NRA is torn on what to do on this one. I bet they decide not to support either candidate in NV.

If you call the NRA they will say “we make our decisions 100% on the Second Amendment.”

Those guys who wrote The Constitution would not want taxpayers fleeced to build a shooting range.

Sorry: The article on the NRA-ILA web site with pictures of the new Harry Reid shooting center (not it’s real name) was posted on middle of June 2010 - last month. The pictures show Reid, LaPierre and Cox.

So the range just opened. I wonder if Harry or his cronies owned the land.

They have not decided but I think they supported Harry in the past. My guess is they will not support either one.

If you call the NRA they will say “we make our decisions 100% on the Second Amendment.” <<

I called them and told them I make my decisions on ALL the Amendments....If they sell out the others by backing Reid...They can kiss my ass and my membership goodbye!....in any order they see fit...

Here’s the link to the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. They’ve made no official endorsements but it looks like they might be trying to soften up the membership for a Reid endorsement. What they don’t point out about Reid is what an Obama whore he is and how quickly he’d sell his own children to slave traders for a pat on the head from the Annointed One. If the NRA endorses him, I’m finished.

When this issue first came up I called them and was given a no-answer answer so all 6 members in our family dropped their membership. Unless they come out against Reid and in favor of Angle they are supporting Reid as far as we are concerned.

I e-mailed and told them that if the support that traitorous bastard, I’d never support them again. Let’s see what they do.
