Majority of Americans lack faith in Obama: poll

Nearly 60 percent of American voters say they lack faith in President Barack Obama, according to a public opinion poll published on Tuesday.

Asked how much confidence they have in Obama to make the right decisions for the country's future, 58 percent of respondents said "just some" or "none."

The poll of 1,288 people was conducted July 7-11

Note it's not even necessarily "adults", just "people" -- just imagine what the numbers are for "registered voters" or "likely voters".

Independents and Republicans are more approving of Obama's performance on the economy than are Democrats? Poll is implausible if that's really what it reported. The Kool-Aid is still consumed freely among the Obamanistas.

Democrats now control both houses of Congress, but a slight majority of those polled said they would prefer to have Republicans in control to serve as a check on Obama's policies.

The idea that it's political suicide to be the "party of NO" or to oppose boneheaded policy is an old, tired MSM myth.

People are not automatically turned off by opposition any more than they are disgusted by negative ads. Sure, there is always some grousing and one-off reactions. But overall, as for the ads, for example, candidates run them because they WORK.

Republicans should not be afraid to be characterized as strongly opposed to the worst president in American history. Yes, they absolutely need to have positive ideas and a plan for governing. But there's nothing wrong with also proudly saying "help us stop him! Give us power to place some real obstacles in front of this buffoon!"
