As long as we've got aviation fuel for Air Force 1 and the Pelosimobile, and gas for the necessary limos, I'm not sure we've got any further energy problems. Let them ride bicycles.

“Let them ride bicycles.”

Riding a bike might do something for Michelle’s fat ass.

There's currently a moratorium set to last until Nov. 30 on drilling rigs used for deepwater operations in the Gulf. It is designed to halt new operations until the causes of the BP accident are known and new safety procedures can be put in place. the US oil industry is so unprofitable that 0bama is forced to step in and nationalize it because it's "too big to fail".

There, Fixed it.

One of the more interesting things in this deep water drilling ban the regime is attempting to create is that the wells are on federally owned land and the activities there are totally covered by the leases written by the federal government.

The judge has informed the government that they can't just shut down a leasehold (called a "permit") without some evidence that the lessee has violated some term in the lease.

That's pretty much covered in Law 101. It's amplified in later courses but anyone who did first semester law should know that one.

Like it's not rocket science!

When it comes to wells on lands owned by states or private individuals it's more proper to speak of "regulation", but the USSC has continually ruled over the years that at some point regulation can and does turn into a "taking" so the government can't just regulate something to the point where it has no economic value. NOTE: these cases are all very complex so you need to study them closely.

‘Restrictions on new oil and gas drilling could soon spread from the Gulf of Mexico to onshore operations.’

This almost sounds like an attempt to crash the Texas Economy.

With Obama’s energy policies we will soon be shivering or sweltering in our darkened homes and those few of us still with jobs may not be able to afford driving to work. Obama’s socialism will give us the standard of living our grandparents enjoyed in about 1900 where having cold running water and a flush toilet in your home and a few bare electric lights were the lap of luxury.

here in PA where we have a LOT of shale gas, the local Commies are running around throwing everything possible against the wall to see if they can shut it down. (I suspect though they will fail because the local Democrat political class is slobbering all over themselves at the thought of all that new revenue they can tax and spend)

Failing at the local level would of course not stop Emperor Obama (though he’d likely have to throw a bailout package at Fast Eddie Rendell to buy his silence)

Obama: equal-opportunity industry destroyer.
