In the Down East section of the NC coast north of Beaufort, evey small bay has at least one partially sunken shrimp trawler or fishing boat. Adds to the maritime ambiance.

" Army Core of Engineers"
Actually, this is correct. I know this because I am a Kernel in the Mureen Corpse.

It appears that the Double D is aground on wetlands. ICBW, but my guess is that messin' with it will be a Federal crime.

that's the trouble with private ownership of boats. all marine travelers should take federally sponsored ferries!

What does the graffiti painted on the starboard side say?
It appears to read “OIL = SUICIDE” to me. Ugh.

It looks like an opportunity for some enterprising souls.
One of my most memorable experiences was taking an old and rundown 32 foot sea skiff on the Chesapeake Bay and restoring it. It provided lots time with family and friends and a great deal of satisfaction. A year and a half of labor and some money later it was ready to enjoy on the water.

Charleston has the same problem, but they’re taking care of it. All this man needs to do is call City Hall in Charleston and find out how they’re getting it done.
