The liberal group Think Progress has fellow liberals all excited today with a video that purports to document alleged pervasive racism at Tea Party rallies.
The fifty-three second YouTube video contains about forty-four seconds of racist or bigoted statements or images. Out of the millions who participated in the thousands of Tea Party rallies over the past year-and-a-half, the video features footage or photos of fifteen 'bigoted' people. They even throw in a gratuitous shot at Glenn Beck with a photo of a woman holding a sign that simply says "Thank God--There's Glen (sic) Beck!"
Inadvertently acknowledging a shortage of Tea Party racists, the video repeats footage of five white men making racist statements. One of the 'racists', who is filmed saying Obama is "too black" to be president, is standing with his black wife, daughter and son.
Two of the others express hatred of Mexicans and "wetbacks." Another flatly states he is a proud racist while another yells about Obama's "Afro-Leninism."
There are a few segments featuring bigotry. One snippet has a man calling another man a "faggot." A woman is shown expressing her fear of Muslims taking over America and a man is shown saying Obama should be sent back to Kenya. There are also a few still photos of racist signs and a t-shirt.
What the Think Progress video shows is that out of millions of Tea Party activists, there are a handful of goobers and racists who show up at Tea Party protests. None of the footage is of leaders of the movement or speakers at the rallies making racist comments.
Unlike, say, the NAACP which features racist speakers at their events.
Or the Democrat Party which elevates people with a history of racism and racist comments to high office like president and vice-president of the United States, president pro-tempore of the Senate, secretary of State, etc.
The ‘Pubbies ought to counter with several hours of the Reverend Wrong’s sermons.
The corrupt democrat party media had to shoot many tens of thousands of hours of TV video tape to find things they could use in propaganda.
God forbid they do any news reporting.
That’s it? Thats the best they got? One rant by Shabazz sort of makes this version of racism pretty lame by comparison. They even used one guy twice. This is a laughable attempt and will be seen that way.
When has an ideology become a race?
That’s pretty lame if you ask me.
Ofcourse they do, because this crap works! And meanwhile, we have wimps taking down banners and giving advice to be the “bigger guy” when the NAACP pulls it’s stunts. THIS is why we lose.
How do we know they weren’t plants?

Which is why I don’t understand the concern, even here on FR, on the “image” the Tea Party projects, on “how we look”.
We are America. Exactly who are we supposed to be trying to please?
The man who said we can fight Al Quaeda but can't kill Obama is more insinuating that Obama is really a terrorist and that's not racist on its face. Incendiary yes, racist, no.
I don't know how long it took them to scour all the rallies to find the proud racist guy but he's far in the minority of Tea Partiers.
The guy who called Mexican animals is being very insensitive but didn't mention race but a nationality.
All in all, it's a pretty thin case.
None of the footage is of leaders of the movement or speakers at the rallies making racist comments.

They will never understand. They are so narrow minded as a group, I think they believe that all groups are that way. They cannot and do not understand a true movement that crosses all parties and all races. All of their “grass roots movements” have been bought, paid for, and bussed in. They will never understand a movement where members have the freedom to think for themselves rather than being told what to think. That is why the Tea Party represents true freedom and will continue to fight for it.
Let this moron that says the tea party called out Nigger tell us what was on Pelosis mind at the time she did that..If that had of been a tea party person that did what she did,they would have had that gavel shoved down their throat..well maybe we can do that when the whore is no longer in office..

The Left wants to believe the tea party is all racist, as that relieves them-in their minds-of responsibility of defending their beliefs and policy.
Why do a large and diverse group like the tea parties have to assume responsibility for a few racially insensitive people? If that’s the standard, then the NAACP is responsible for the actions of the New Black Panthers.
This is all Democratic Party propaganda, dutifully amplified by their fellow Democrats in the news media.
