Idealistic? Hardly. I don’t disagree with you about the general resentment toward whitey, and the attempt to seize power through progressive taxation - and also through other, more overt means.
As much as anything, I was trying to convey my sense of amazement that my kids have the attitude they do, having spent the past 6+ years in Memphis.
Where ethnic tension does indeed seethe.
We all have our own history in the South...different generations...different locales.
However, r9etb generalizes a lot...about something of which he/she apparently has no knowledge.
