Ilario Pantano, Republican Nominee for North Carolinas 7th Congressional District, issued a statement today commending the New Hanover County Commissioners for passing a resolution at last nights County Commissioners Meeting supporting Arizonas new immigration law and calling on North Carolinas General Assembly to pass identical legislation.
I want to applaud our New Hanover County Commissioners for having the courage to pass this resolution, and I stand with them in calling on our State leaders to pass identical legislation to the Arizona law, Pantano said. It is unfortunate that our states are having to pass these laws, but I implore them to do what is necessary to solve the illegal immigration threat.

Saw Mr. Pantano on C-Span a few years back talking about court martial. I bought and read his book after hearing him speak about his experiences. He would be an excellent addition to congress. What are his odds in the district in which he is running?
Pantano’s book, Warlord, is one of the best books I have ever read. I had heard he didn’t fair well in primaries so I am delighted to hear he is still in the running for congress.

Interesting. In my very conservative county the commissioners passed a resolution condemning the health care bill.
I am very good friends with my commissioner. I said “hey since you guys don’t mind dabbling in national politics... why don’t you pass a resolution in support if SB1070”......... I got silence. Not even a comment. I suspect they are in the “open borders RINO” wing of the GOP. They don’t want to pi$$ off their campaign donors who employ illegals.
I’m acquainted with Ilario Pantano; he’s been a success at whatever he’s put his hand to. I believe that if for whatever reason he doesn’t get there on the first shot, he’ll dust himself off and hit it again.
My money’s on him getting there this time around.
That would be outstanding. Daniel Gilyeat is running for congress in KS. I’m not sure how much of a chance he has. I can’t vote for him but would if I could. He’s an Iraqi veteran who lost a leg in battle. He was also featured in an Extreme Makeover show.
