Gingrich hoping for 'dialogue' between NAACP, Tea Party

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) tweeted Thursday morning that dialogue could lessen the growing tensions between the NAACP and the Tea Party movement.

Those tensions have grown since Tuesday, when delegates to the NAACP convention in Kansas City approved a resolution that calls on “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”

It refers specifically to instances where Tea Partiers yelled racial slurs at black members of Congress while protesting the healthcare overhaul in March.

Since the vote, Tea Party leaders have leveled similar accusations back at the NAACP.

While fielding criticism from CNN political analyst Ronald Martin on Wednesday, Tea Party Express spokesman Mark Williams said that "racists have their own movement. It's called the NAACP."

Gingrich, via Twitter, took a different tone:

The naacp has opened up a wonderful opportunity for the tea party movement. Local tea party leaders across america should reach out

If tea party leaders contact local naacp chapters and offer to cohost local townhalll meetings a wonderful dialogue could begin

This exactly why Newt shouldn’t be the Republican
candidate. Instead of defending the Tea Party
against unfounded accusations, he is calling
for dialogue? He should be screaming to the NAA(L)CP,
prove your accusations or turn off the mike!

Why the Hell is our side always the one to “reach out”, to “seek a dialogue”, and to “try to find common ground” with the other side?

Because it fits the left's template that only conservatives are racists, so therefore they're the ones who should do the reaching out.

Newt takes one step forward and two back.

The NAACP isnt interested in dialogue.

To even try to speak to these people is a mistake. Bush found that out, now Newt is making the same mistake.

The NAACP isnt interested in anything other than 100% capitulation by white people , getting paid their reparations and being placed in a position to turn this country into Zimbabwe.

Like Al Queda and the Taleban, the NAACP and all of it’s members are American enemies.

There is no need to appease.

I heard someone from KC say that there were only about 500 people at the convention. Virtually invisible.

Newt, as soon as your favorite congresswoman from NY says it’s okay, we’ll have that dialog.

I can’t believe these cowards. Again, it’s run out and apologize for something you didn’t do. And grovel. The naacp is irrevelant. Pretend they don’t exist. But not the gop. Hell, no! They’ll go apologizing for the Tea Party of which they’re not a member. And believe me, this “dialog” Newt wants will end up in an apology.

More and more each day it looks like a third party is the only answer. If we survive until the GOP and the DEM no longer exists. But re-electing the GOP as it is only postpones the inevitable.

The funny thing about that skit is that she knew how to treat the idiots. Chump don’t ant help, Chump don’t gat no help.

That is what Newt should say. If the NAACP wants to act like a=holes -—screw em>

He truly is a clueless old fool. The naacp isn't interested in dialog, only demagog and newt should be smart enough to at least recognize that.

Get your head out of your behind cracker. Denounce the naacp for their outlandish lies and shed some of that socially inflicted white guilt that's making you say such stupid things.

The TEA Party would only be distracted by trying to reach out to the likes of jealous and his minions. It's a fools errand and gingrich would recognize that if he wasn't trying to prove his politican's pedigree before he ruins for the Big Chair.

What the heck is this; talking to NAALCP. Maybe Newt should understand; the line are drawn very clearly; the Tea Party vs the NAALCP/Black Panther. You do not sit down with the enemies period.

Ah, Newt...reach across the divide. Sorry, the Tea Party isn’t interested in your sell-out theories where upon the Tea Party ‘confesses’ to some sort of ‘shame’ and is given qualified ‘absolution’ from a beneficent NAACP and promising to support more wealth sharing for the downtrodden.

Speaking of being on the Plantation, taxpayers have finally realized they are the wage slaves...not the ultra rich who pander to the underclass by redistributing the ‘wealth’ of the middle class.

Fools. A vibrant middle class allows the rich to continue to prosper and the underclass to move up. We are not interested in being in vassals to the grand state.

Kissing the almighty ass of people who slander you is a way of life for republican shmucks

This is why Newt is irrelevant in 2012. I’ve heard him credited as being the most intelligent and best educated “conservative”. This is the kind of intelligence that we don’t need. NAACP has made an accusation of racism. There is no possible way of proving a negative to defend the accusation. There is also no possibility of negotiating about it. They are not going to change their position and we are not going to change our denial. Any negotiation is a victory for those making the accusation.

So, the solution is to have a trial to determine if we are guilty. No,the trial will not be in the media. The trial will be in the election in November. If we are guilty, you should reject our position that America should return to being a nation living under the Constitution based on the ideals and values expressed in the Declaration of Independence and you should elect more Socialists to limit freedoms only to those they wish to allow us. If we are not guilty, you should vote to dislodge all the Progressives, Socialists, and Marxists currently in office.

After seeing the result of such a trial, I doubt their organization will be as willing to slander others.
