I don't know all the mechanics of this....but if we can use the present system as a working well, do we really want to attempt to tap it and plug it??

I hear ya, if the casings are solid, capture the dang oil then, heck put a nice big head on it and pipe it onshore, folks don’t realize how much stuff is pumped all over the floor of the Gulf.. they should still both relief holes and pump oil out of it too.. more jobs and more oil.. a win win..

but.. Obama has his mission.. regardless the cost..
