During Heller, the goa was the only gun group to ask for the narrow view forcing the other gun groups to sue for every gun law on the books. During McDonald, the goa filed a brief that mentioned the NRA’s position nine times.

I am an NRA member. I also have my eyes open. Here in my hometown, the NRA sent a mailer supporting a sheriff candidate who promptly on taking office cut existing CCW permits to near zero. And here in the People’s Republic that was too few to start with. I further noted NRA’s handling of Heller, where they came late to the game, and in McDonald where they butted in. In my book, LaPierre and Cox need to retire. NRA seems more run for the benefit of its very highly paid executives, than for the stated objectives of the organization. They’ve played defense for too long is the short version. The latest games they’re playing in DC disgust me.

SAF has carried the ball forward smartly, and is now operating in the exploitation phase after breakthroughs in DC and Chicago. They’ll be getting any spare cash I have, not the NRA, at least until the leadership changes.
