'The Kids' are not all right (Latest Hollywood film reaches even further than Brokeback Mountain)
New York Post ^ | 07/15/2010 | Andrea Peyser

Shh! Hollywood is having a teaching moment -- this time in the bedroom, where, if you're straight, chances are you've been doing it wrong.

In the first frames of the new flick "The Kids Are All Right," two boys snort coke. Next, a dad tackles his teenage son so ferociously, the child can't breathe.

That boy soon tries to relieve himself on a dog. Gross. And a man with exceptional appetites proves that Cialis, not to mention heterosexual relations, is for losers.

That is how the most self-righteously moralistic movie to hit the big screen since "Forrest Gump" preaches an undeniable Hollywood truth: Men, and boys who will be men, are not just bad. They're corrupt, amoral horndogs.

And women, especially neurotic, lesbian mommies who drive Volvos, watch gay male porn (go figure!) and get plastered before lunch, are perfect.

These are the life choices presented in Lisa Cholodenko's "The Kids," sort of a cross between "Leave it to Beaver" and "Kittens With Whips." Choose your lifestyle wisely, moviegoers. For this film is set to go down in history as the first major motion picture to make a family led by gay women -- A-lister Annette Bening, as the control-freak doctor Nic, "wed" to A-lister Julianne Moore, as the weepy, infantilized Jules -- seem not just normal, but close to godly.

It reaches further than the gay-cowboy romp "Brokeback Mountain," whose characters maintained a sense of otherness while shielding the kids from their shenanigans. In this movie, exposing kids is the entire point.

And this is how Hollywood does an end run around morality.

Yes, united we stand, divided we fall.

Hollywood is filled with amoral Marxists. Marxism is all about destroying the family unit. Women hate men, men are ostracized and demeaned and made irrelevant. Kids have poor role models, if any, so they are insecure and grasp for anyone or anybody who makes them feel important.

Adults are too busy copulating (keep em too busy to watch the politicians) to teach children right from wrong==Oh, but that’s good because that might imply that there is a God. Can’t have a God in utopia here on earth.

I wanna know what the devil the reviewer had against “Forrest Gump?” The morals of Gump were CLEARLY superior to the piece of garbage this column describes — “Gump” didn’t HAVE to be “self-righteous” or “moralistic” to SEE that!

Even in the older movies there was a thread. This thread was ridiculed. The actors and actoress’ shown to be naive or shallow if they did harm to the larger understanding. That is the larger understanding dies off. Then there is nobody to explain this parady.
The people behind the scenes took a short term chance. This was never really the way it was but lives on in film. It is interesting but sad because all these actors just get old and die. The directors are gone.
They want you to “Get It” then that part is gone. They gave a shout but they didn’t know what was coming.

May have watched old movies or maybe not. They were made from a position of strength. That is there was already an understanding that we were superior. We had the luxury to look at the imperfect foibles, society from sitting upon a hill looking down. So much blood was expended. So much sacrifice. It was supposed to be over. Give the kids a break, let them run wild and enjoy life. Let them find that happiness and many did. Many marriages in relative peace and new engineers and fantastic people born.
It is only by this peace that so much mocking is able to be done. Then as folks go away it seems as fact.

From Wikipedia

“Cholodenko is in a relationship with musician Wendy Melvoin.[2] Cholodenko gave birth to their son, Calder, by way of an anonymous sperm donor.[1] She also has two dogs, Rocket and Magnus.[3]”

Now how did I ever know this (gay) would be the case even before I googled her name?

Gee, can’t you guess what kind of person made this movie???

“The film The Kids Are All Right stars Annette Bening and Julianne Moore as a couple whose two teenage children have decided to track down their moms’ anonymous sperm donor — played by Mark Ruffalo.

The indie film was written and directed by Lisa Cholodenko, who came up with the plot for the suburban comedy five years ago, when she and her girlfriend decided to have a baby.

snip

Bonus: Cholodenko and her writing partner, Stuart Blumberg, were able to tell the sperm-donor story from both the recipient’s and the donor’s points of view, because Blumberg had donated anonymously
while in college.”

BTW

She looks and acts like Kagan.

I wonder who already controls America ???

I’ll tell you something. If you want to speak of starvation or being stifled, this is like a horror movie to our friends in the old soviet bloc.
This had to cause brain aneurisms or heart attacks to think we had nothing better to do than watch stupid movies we didn’t know the evil. It was turned inside itself. It was to never be here or never be there.
Then when the wall was down... Then send in , allow in these perverts which is supposed to represent the West. Well it didn’t represent me or my friends.
The Fact is a Rus Is Very akin to a normal american.
If you like that notice “R” is capitol. That is what you don’t see and that is what you watch.

More often than not, stellar reviews mean the movie in question is immoral trash.

Ah, yes... The infamous "Leonard Maltin scale", whereby if Leonard Maltin gave it rave reviews, then sure as the sun rises in the morning, infowarrior would absolutely despise it, and vice versa. Good to see some things haven't changed (although the frequency of my moviegoing certainly has...)

As far as the movie goes, the main audience will be guys wanting to see Julianne Moore and Annette Benning have lesbian sex. Give credit where credit is due.

If Cholodenko is in a relationship with Wendy Melvoin you at least have to credit her with good taste in talented ladies. Wendy and Lisa carried Prince for years as the backbone in Prince and the Revolution. Linking to a Wendy and Lisa video that has one of the best guitar riffs. Wendy could really play.

I saw the preview and felt sick. Who wants to watch this filth besides homosexuals and the left?

The New York Slimes:

“A generous, nearly note-perfect portrait of a modern family.”

A “modern” family. This is want the libs want. They want a breakdown of the traditional family. When you break down the family, you break down society. When you break down society, you leave the door open for more government control.

I’ll bet there will be a bigger audience for this as high schools and grammar schools make this mandatory viewing for their students. It should do very well in MA.

It's unbelievable what Hollywood is puking out these days.

Very few FReepers caught my review of 'Cyrus" ther other day.

'Cyrus' a hilarious take on the Oedipus complex

How weird is that? A Hollyweird movie based on an incestous family named Cyrus?

I think Hollywood very satisfied that most of their money is now made on DVD sales and this is allowing them to get more immoral with what they produce because they know that perverts will buy it.

I remember 20 or 25 years ago when I would take a date to the movies, there might be some movies playing that I had no interest in seeing, but there weren’t any movies that made me look at my date and say, “what kind of sicko would go to that?”
