In just the city I live in, no fewer than ELEVEN infants have died THIS YEAR in co-sleeping deaths. In every case, the baby was born healthy and then taken home and killed by one of their family members by being smothered in their sleep. In your book, these deaths are no different than those that die of natural causes or medical error. These deaths would all count against the infant mortality rates for the country and allow people like who to feel all superior that you can point out how our IMR is worse than the craphole medical systems of Europe.
These deaths were preventable but had nothing at all to do with the quality of our medical care.
