The good news is that they can't go very far without transport. And most urban dwelling Obama voters are too stupid to bug out early. They will wait for the Magical FEMA fairy to come save them. Untrained, underfed, not used to long marches cross country, hauling suitcases and carts rather than proper battle rattle. The best they are going to do is 12 miles a day. In a week they would starve so 84 miles from the edge of civilization is about as far as they are going to get. Get 100 miles out and you are probably safe from anyone who isn't mechanized.

absolutely!...and Kartographer’s excellent post #141 should open any doubter’s eyes...we’re not talking about some meth mouth trash here....we’re talking about diciplined criminal bands with some military training...that is why I think that eventually all survivors will have to live in fortified villages for mutual defense....life will become medieval.

And when that's done, they will go further afield.

Bikes do NOT get better mileage PER PERSON than a car or van when the vehicle is full to capacity. A van carrying seven or eight people, plus rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo, is a more efficient vehicle for transporting looters (and loot) than having a motorcycle per person. It also approaches more quietly, and causes less alarm than a group of bikes. And if the engine is diesel, then you can refuel from abandoned trucks and also use home heating oil as fuel.
