Very well put. I already have this sense of some presence, "the government," hovering right behind me, or maybe in the back of my head somewhere, not quite controlling yet, but preparing to do so...and I think this sensation ultimately saps the energy and hope of citizens and will make us like the passive, simultaneously scared and hostile citizens of the Soviet countries in no time at all.
I just wonder how all that will mix with an incorporated 2nd amendment and the shear number of weapons in private hands in this country?
The difference between us and the soviets will be the amount and level of the firepower in private hands.
Sometimes passive resistance is the only tool you have to work with. Until the moment comes to STRIKE and then you do, or you don’t. And if you do, people die, maybe you. But death comes to every man in time anyway, so what the H.
You will see a lot of government people die.
Everyone one has a “line in the sand”. It differs for everyone. Push a man far enough, leave him with nothing left to lose, and you will see more of the type of incidents where someone the the guy in Austin, Tx. flies a plane into an IRS buiding.
I have the same premonition. I was in Walmart looking at the shelves of merchandise, and thinking that the government was going to make sure that those shelves receive less and less stock as time goes by.
I'm reading Whittaker Chambers' "Witness." It is an incredible book, but as I read, I am impressed with the dread I feel as I see the things he described in the early Fifties actually coming to pass today, as we write.
Passive? Try....royally pissed.....and extremely well-armed.
