Barack Obama had the family dog Bo flown to Maine in a separate government jet for the Obama family's vacation weekend, according to news reports.
Arriving in a small jet before the Obamas was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; and the president's personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with Baldacci.
BTW, Obama's aide Reggie Love gets paid $102,000 per year of taxpayers' money to handle Bo and hold Obama's ice cream cones, among other highly sought after well-paid jobs skills.

In 1968 I was working for a small company in Garland, TX. We had an urgent contract deadline to meet. I had subcontractors in both northern and soothern California and also in Connecticut. I planned a trip to the west coast and then to Connecticut. I had never flown nonstop coast to coast, so I thought it would be an excellent idea to save time and take a redeye from LA to New York overnight. I found myself on a fully loaded DC-8, surrounded by hippies. My seatmate had a bandage around his head, probably covering injuries inflicted in some street riot. I was at the Connecticut subcontractor next day, looking forward to a real night’s rest, when I got a phone call from my office instructing me to hot-foot it back to San Francisco ASAP. They had arranged for me to ride first class, gov’s funded of course. So the guy who had never flown coast-to-coast nonstop, got to do it two nights in a row.
It’s part of the political genes. Supposedly FDR dispatched a navy destroyer to pick up his dog when it got left on Kodiak Island during the war.
Photo ops. Look at us,we’re normal people with normal tastes. Its all calculated.
He attacks Republicans for supposedly supporting the rich, i.e. the PRODUCERS and those who create real jobs, but he himself is living the very high life, all on the expense of us the taxpayers. But what else do we expect from liberals, they are the biggest hypocrites on the planet.
Will i see mention if this on any site mentioning govt. waste or is it too small a figure?
Imagine the outrage and lectures if Bush had wasted $$ like this?

I’m sure that German-speaking ice cream holders are hard to come by, so his six-figure salary is a supply and demand thing...

Normally I would say, “Much Ado about Nothing.” But everybody knows if this were a Republican, the press would be all over it.
No, it IS a big deal, at least to me. I understand that the POTUS can't travel the same way as the rest of us, but his aide? His dog?
Elitist. Wasteful. We're out here busting our backs trying to make ends meet in a sour economy, with increasing taxes eating away at the little we get to keep, and he's doing WHAT with our money?

If this were a delegation going on government business, I'm sure multiple aircraft may be involved. But this is a vacation, for Pete's sake. It's Obambi, his wife and daughters. Sure, there has to be various security details and others involved, but no one can tell me Air Force One, or even some other similar aircraft, can't accommodate the number of people involved.
Cap-and-trade, carbon reduction, and conservation are ONLY for the little people!
0bamao had better damn well be paying the bill, otherwise explain why the dog is necessary for him to continue his duties as usurper.
I doubt it was a private flight just for the dog. Like somebody said above, all presidents travel like medieval kings and the Obama people just put the dog on one of the advance planes that were going to be going anyway. Obama is just following in the footsteps of his presidential predecessors.
