No offense to your post kristinn, but I don't think this is any big deal, nor do I think the headline accurately reflects the content. There are any number of flights that occur in advance of a presidential vacation. The entire entourage doesn't fly on AF1.

No, it IS a big deal, at least to me. I understand that the POTUS can't travel the same way as the rest of us, but his aide? His dog?

Yes it is that big of a deal. Why didn’t the dog and the aide fly on AF1 also? The Secret Service advance teams would NOT take a dog and an aide along with them. They are there strickly protective purposes.
