Most people still cannot comprehend the size of Alaska, my sister came to visit me some years ago, I picked her up in Anchorage at the airport and she stayed with me at my house just north of Wasilla.
She had in her mind a travel itinerary of being in Seward one day and Fairbanks the next, and doing it by car, to her it was the same as if driving from San Jose Ca to LA.
I said yes it may be the same miles but its not the same roadwise.
I’m glad we do have a ton of quakes, it scares the bejeezus out of illegal immigrants fer sure!
If I remember correctly, Alaska is more than double the size of Texas. I also remember seeing an image of Alaska overlaid on the western US and seeing that it’s very comparable in size, and the western states are not small.
