Swing states that went to Bush but voted for big 0 in 2008: MO (41%), NC (48%), VA (48%), CO (49%), OH (49%), NM (51%). If these numbers are right (which I don’t think so, but for discussion sake, say they are), 0bama will only lose MO—assuming his numbers will increase during the campaign. So, the drops in ‘independent supports’ that we kept hearing actually coming from states other than these?

California 56% - perhaps in certain areas. I do believe his numbers are far, far lower here in central California.If they got the results from San Francisco or San Jose, Oakland, maybe.
