Holistic
Isn't that what George Costanza used to cure tonsillitis?
To: Libloather
I’m interested in my dog obtaining adequate nutrition. Floridian gov’t dependents, not as much.

Not for nothing here, but some people can use the help. I find this disgusting
and wonder was it done for fun at someone’s expense? The way things are heading we might all be on dog food soon!

Food Bank Mistakenly Gives Out Dog Food
RUSH: There is some lighthearted news out there today (at least some might consider it lighthearted): "Food Bank Mistakenly Gives Out Dog Food -- A food bank in Clearwater, Fla., distributed a can labeled as a 'superfood' that turned out to be a can of dog food, the recipient said." We don't know whether or not the recipient had a can opener capable of opening the dog food, but it happened in Clearwater, Florida.

****On Social Security, retired Air Force veteran Frank Viscido made his weekly trip from his home in Largo to the Religious Community Services Food Bank in Clearwater for free food,***
Retired military should be getting a decent pension to go along with his Social security. So, he should be able to get military medical, commissary, and BX privileges.
So, why is he going to a food bank?

I will whole-heartedly help out/donate to those that CANNOT do for themelves but I draw the line at poviding for those that WILL NOT do for themselves.

Because it’s free. You’d be surprised how many people take stuff simply because it’s “free”, whether they actually need it or not. It’s an entitlement thing.

That is what I was wondering. Why does this man need food hand-outs? Apparently he also has the wherewithal to get himself from Largo to Clearwater for the free food. That said, you would think that someone involved in this episode would have READ THE LABEL before handing it out.

The way things are heading we might all be on dog food soon! I'm confused... is this the end of the Gravy Train - or the beginning?

It is a national shame that retired and some families of active duty military require charity to survive. These men and women served or are serving this country with honor and THIS is how we thank them?
Nuts! It’s still too hot to get this hissed off.

Well, at least the recipient was assured of "healthy skin and coat".
I've a suspicion that this is some pricey stuff, as pet food goes. Which begs the question - what was a food bank doing with it?

So, why is he going to a food bank?I was just thinking the other day - can a retired military person ever lose that retirement pay - for, say, becoming a felon?
I'm neither. Just wondering.

Foodbanks in our area of CT have a LOT of pricey, all natural foods. A lot of people complain because they want Capt Crunch and all they have is Kashi...crazy isn’t it?
