A poll found voters were twice as likely to blame President George W. Bush than President Obama for economic problems.
A new poll released Monday found voters were twice as likely to blame President George W. Bush, rather than President Obama, for the nations economic problems.
When asked whether Bush or Obama was responsible for the recession, 53 percent of likely voters said Bush and 26 percent said Obama, according to the poll from Third Way, a think tank with close ties to centrist Democrats. Another 21 percent of respondents said they didnt know.
Benenson Strategy Group conducted the survey from June 19-22.
The poll results show why Democrats have turned to attacking Bush ahead of the midterm elections. Rep. Chris Van Hollen (Md.) and Sen. Robert Menendez (N.J.), who are leading the Democratic campaign efforts in their respective chambers, used an appearance on NBCs Meet the Press Sunday to argue that Bushs economic policies led to job losses and more debt.
November '10 and '12 can't get here fast enough.

‘Progressives’ had another name in Mother Russia before the Revolution.
Gee...I seem to remember unemployment at the 4% level before the Democrats took charge. I guess they want people to forget they took charge in 2007 to start implementing their “change” rather than in 2009.
Wouldn't ya love to know the precise wording of the question(s)?
Pfftt!
Give ‘em another year.
these next 3+ months may be among the longest of our lives. The media vermin are going to do everything in their power to change the course of this election. We must be active online and in our areas to make sure we put a stake in the Obama agenda.
Both of them suck!
FUGWB!
FUBHO!
Everytime obama says something is Bush’s fault- he probably doesn’t realize he is admitting he is powerless.
So how long does the public tolerate a powerless wimp president.
The one thing I blame Bush for is not beating up on the DemonRATs on a daily basis, and fixing the blame where it really belongs.
Rutherford B Hayes
This just means we have a lot of work to do!! We have to change their minds, what do they know???
Whose views apparently align fairly well with Vladimir Lenin...
Republicans need to hammer the fact that the rats controlled congress the last two years of Bush’s term.
If done right, would be quite effective IMO.
so the Hill peddles press releases from a wack left wing group poll as fact!
what a shock !
I can’t believe the nutters at THE HILL are biased !
It’s simple as dirt. The media shapes opinion and drives outcomes these days.
The bloody bashing of every microdot of Bush’s existance of course reaped rewards for the left—the same left that delusionally controls the media.
Obama’s closet of scandals is exponential compared to Bush. He had no business even ever considering making a run for president. He is full of lies, coverups, pure deception, no accomplishment, a street corner con man—the media works overtime to protect him, they are his quislings.
What everyone should do is place a laser focus on the real tool of our slow but sure demise.
Not the politicians. The media.
Serious boycotting in the millions is the only answer to strip this nightmarish, narcotic-like force of their insidious power.
It’s amazing how little the public at large assigns responsibility to Congress for the consequences of government doings.
The president’s primary role, constitutionally, is merely to see that the laws and appropriations that Congress passes are carried out. He does have veto power, but Congress can override him if they like.
The liberal media, over generations, have transformed the image of the president into that of a monarch in the minds of many Americans.
Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and the other congressmen who promoted and protected Fannie and Freddie and who pushed the idea of destroying credit standards in the name of greater minority home ownership have as much responsibility as anything any president did to cause the housing crisis.
Have you the Hill propaganda piece details ?
The poll was conducted by a left wing Dem party outfit !
