Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, claiming to "reject" the Obama administration's assertion that the border is more secure than ever, announced Monday that she's directing $10 million in federal stimulus dollars to tackle smuggling and illegal immigration.
On the same day the administration announced its plan to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the southwestern states, Brewer said she's sending the pot of stimulus money to more than a dozen border cities and counties -- as well as several tribes and the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

This ole gal ‘has them’, HUH? like her and the way she runs her state.. Beyound me why they are giving her and the state so much hell
How long before AZ is sued to try to force the return of the money?
So where is her support from the former Republican Nominee for President of the United States, the RNC, and the entire Republican Senate and Congressional caucuses?
** Cue chirping crickets **
How can she be sure these cities will use the money for law enforcement?
LOL — I love this woman! LOL A lot of the Republican MEN don’t have a set — but HERS are freakin’ BRONZED....
Heh heh! Good for Brewer.
Brewer is one of only two proven patriots who are presently serving in office. Chris Christie is the other. In office. That’s where you can prove that rhetoric actually takes second place to action, contrary to the conservative blab occuring all over the place among the 2012 wannabees currently flexing their pap, platitudes and sound bites. This is incredible that Brewer and Christie are courageous enough to walk the talk, defying gravity, and taking it to the enemy in their face. Brewer/Christie, or vv 2012, and the Northeast and Southwest are a couple at last.
Christie would have to have a come to Jesus moment on the 2nd Amendment for me to ever consider voting for him to national office. I voted for him in the NJ election and think he’s the best governor NJ has had in my lifetime, but I’d rather vote for Brewer, DeMint, or Bachmann for POTUS.
Just out of curiosity, why doesn’t the governor activate the National Guard and put them on the border. If nothing else it will embarrass the Feds even more.
Great idea. Love it.
Here's more good thinking in FReeper TommyDale's post:
"..... the main reason the Federal Government is filing a lawsuit against Arizona is to keep certain facts and records out of public view until after the elections....."
Glenn Beck put it well: The virtual fence works as well as a virtual condom would.
Ping!
It's pretty simple, the feds can't have states standing up to them. They are attempting to intimidate other states, so they won't stand up to the feds.
Claiming? Did she or didn't she?
“Brewer is one of only two proven patriots who are presently serving in office.”
Absolutely true! A proven patriot!.
