They aren’t on the east coast, or at least here in North Carolina.

You hear reports of sightings, but I have yet to see any proof. Of course, some people SWEAR they’ve seen them up in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Put me in the ‘I swear I saw a mtn lion’ column.

Driving back from Monroe, NC to Raleigh about 10 yrs ago I crossed the Rocky River on hwy 601.

Just on the other side of the bridge was an animal that had been struck by a car.
It was large, about mtn. lion size and had a long tail, buff/ tan color.

I had just gotten a speeding ticket and was so pi$$ed I didn’t stop to verify but I’m pretty sure it was a mtn. lion. Can’t think of what else it could have been.

Rural southern Indiana here. We hadn't seen a mountain lion in fifty years. Until they took a picture of one a short ways from here about a month ago. They are re-establishing their range.
