The top Republican contenders continue to hold modest leads in the race for the U.S. Senate in the toss-up state of Colorado, with county prosecutor Ken Buck now running slightly stronger than former Lieutenant Governor Jane Norton against the top Democratic hopefuls.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Colorado finds Buck earning 48% support against incumbent Democratic Senator Michael Bennett who gets 39% of the vote.

If former House Speaker Andrew Romanoff is his Democratic opponent, Buck leads by a narrower 47% to 42% margin.

A month ago, Buck posted a 46% to 41% lead over Bennet and a 45% to 39% lead over Romanoff.

Norton, who has been the stronger GOP candidate in the contest for months, is in a virtual tie with Romanoff for the second month in a row, leading him 44% to 42%. A month ago, she held a 43% to 42% lead.

Ken Buck has the local leftists around here just fit to be tied. They are whining about Bush over and over and over.

Go Ken!

That looks like a whole lot more than “slightly” to me.

It looks like more than slightly to me too, especially given the hype for harry reid earlier this week for being ahead in one poll by less than that.

See my post here WITT to get an idea of what’s going on in CO and why McInnis is behind. I hope things will straighten out—it’s hard to say:

What’s a Hickenpooper?

A pain in the butt that won't be any good for Colorado. I'm afraid that McInnis's ego is going to screw it up for a lot of races down the ticket.
