Imagine this happening in the USA.

This person needs to get outside of NYC when in the USA, maybe plan a trip that never goes within 300 miles of the NE coast or West Coast. Likely some smaller distance will keep you out of the tourist zones around the Gulf coast and SE coast.

This is small town behavior almost anywhere in the world, I would guess.
