Having an incentive for lobbyists to become educated about guns and self defense can only be a good thing.

It would appear that the person(s) interviewed for the rebuttal was not informed of the fact that possession of the permit, not the gun, is what is getting people to the expedited line. The lawmakers do not have to carry the weapon, just the ID card to get in faster.

“Gun control” fanatics are, of course, livid....

When you do or say something that has this effect, it is metaphysical confirmation that you're doing something right.

"Where's the security come from if you can still get in with a gun?" asked Canadian tourist Clyde Ducharme, who went through the metal detectors one recent morning.

Uh, from the people with the guns. Not too many police stations, gun shops or gun shows have armed robberies or assaults against them, and for good reason: criminals may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, but they're generally not insane.

Further, I noticed that Mr. Canuck Blissninnie still went into the building - and I presume that nothing bad happened to him, otherwise we'd have heard about it. Spend your money here, then go home to your nice, comfortable nanny state, you moron.

The tested, and certified "Good Guys" with guns. Not all such are employees of the state you know. At least in Texas. From the story:

The application process does require a minimum of 10 hours of instruction in the laws related to carrying a concealed handgun, and applicants must demonstrate their competence and proficiency with a firearm. Every applicant is fingerprinted and undergoes a comprehensive background check.

Don't like it? I-35 heads North as well as south. Think about it a bit, you might actually like the idea.
