Shirley Sherrod Becomes Obama Political Problem
NPR ^ | July 21, 2010 | Frank James

As soon as much of the available evidence suggested that Shirley Sherrod had become the victim of a rush to judgment by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, it became clear President Barack Obama had a mushrooming political problem on his hands.

Sherrod went from being the villain of the piece to a figure drawing great empathy from millions, not the least of which was conservative talk show host Glen Beck.

And among those who were most closely watching the president’s handling of affair were important members of the president’s base, people he could ill afford to alienate: African Americans and liberals.

While Obama remains popular, his poll numbers are significantly lower than they were earlier in the year. His support among independents who helped propel him to the presidency has steadily eroded.

That was worrisome enough for Democrats during a mid-term election year.

But then the Sherrod affair threatened to hurt the president with some of the most members of the Democratic base.

Yes, Obama does hate Black people particularly if they are Americans!!! Let me embellish that statement a bit more. POTUS Barack Hussein Obama hates America, the United States of America and......”ALL” Americans. And.....so does his Democrat Party. Wake up, dudes!!! Time to drop Obama and any Democrat like a bad habit!!!

What are they going to do, get mad and vote for the white conservative candidate next time?

In her speech, Sherrod has shown that she harbors deep resentment for white people and has confessed to acting on that resentment. She was hired by the Obama administration days after she won a suit against the very department she joined as an official. She was the perfect Obama political hiree - a community organizer extraordinaire who demonstrated her ability to shake down the federal government on behalf of blacks (she admits she deliberately didn’t help whites). She represents the “thief class” in our society - people who become expert at helping others take from the “productive class” of taxpayers and hardworking American citizens. Appointing her to a federal job is an indication that the thief class is outgrowing the productive class, which will soon reach a tipping point in this country. That’s when we suffer Greece’s fate (both ancient and modern).

“not having been there and not seeing all the facts,”

But he still concludes that the Cambridge police acted ‘stupidly’, just like he and Holder and Napolitano condemned the Arizona immigration law without reading it. Imagine if Dubya ever made such idiotic statements.

I find it hysterical they convinced Ms. Sherrod to resign because they were afraid of a Glenn Beck expose on a news channel they don’t recognize as a news channel.

ROFLOL! Can you hear the *poof* when it blew up in their faces? It is still going over their heads as they run around screaming about Breibart and Foxnews when they did it to themselves. No one asked that she be fired THEY did that. All Breibart was showing was real racism in the NAACP’s reaction to her story about short shafting whitey. The redeemption part was there all along. They still don’t udnerstand what this was about. It was real racism of the NAACP compared to the imagined racism of the Tea Party.

My god but isn’t that just the funniest thing ever? But on a more serious note, I hope and pray Beck has the courage, nerve, and wisdom to handle what bammy handed him on a silver platter. The regime is making moves based on what they THINK Beck might do. So many opportunities to show them as the traitorous lying pond scum they are, so little time.

“She was the victim of an Obama lynching. “

She deserved the shaft too. Imagine a 65 year old white FAA official saying: “This black guy came to me; but I thought about all the white farmers who had lost their farms, our people, and so I didn’t help him. I figured some of his own folks might help him so I sent him over to a black lawyer . . .” Duh.

I grant you the reaction of the audience was shameful. But Sherrod deserves the boot far more than did Trent Lott.

It’s so condescending. Our press expects blacks officials to say stupid, racist things in public and does not hold them accountable. It doesn’t even notice the shameful behavior of the well-heeled black audience because THAT’S THE BEHAVIOR THE PRESS EXPECTS. “Well, you have to understand, she’s black. That’s the way they talk and act, you know.”

I watched Beck last night. This opportunity is in good hands. I say that, and I’m not a big fan of his.

Pray with me for his eyes.

Obama’s problem is he and his coupp aka administration hate white people unless they are incredibly liberal. They are a bunch of racists.

From the UK - whatever the total context was, the terms she was using are way out of the ballpark. From here it seems pretty racist language.

Having said that, Obama should not have reacted so swiftly while ignorant of the full facts - everyone deserves a hearing. If he had waited he would not be in this pickle now.

This is a bad news worse news problem for Obama:

The Bad news is that white people believed she could be a racist.

The worse news is that Obama and the Dems believed it too.

Does anyone realize just how effectively Breitbart and Beck completely played the Obama administration for fools?

Breitbart puts the video out there, the WH makes a knee-jerk decision, and Beck and others say that she was wronged. Meanwhile Sherrod knows that she was just a tool. Now Obama has egg on his face in front of the blacks who support him.

This was a brilliant, defining masterstroke that ranks right up there with Palin's "Death Panel" comment. We have to start using the Left's tactics against them. Breitbart knows how to play dirty.

The big story was the way the NAACP cheered when they heard how a white farmer might get the shaft.

That's not even the half of it. You've got to appreciate the full weight of this incident within the context of all the other race disasters emanating from the Obama White House.

The Sherrod embarrassment broke right on the heels of the NAACP's resolution condemning the Tea Party for having "racists on its periphery".

Breitbart couldn't have timed the release of the Sherrod video better.

It drives home the point that those who've accused the Tea Party are themselves documented racists, while no one's found a single video or photograph documenting racism within the Tea Party.

And, it didn't even start there. Even earlier, Michelle Obama spoke at the NAACP's national gathering on the eve of their vote on the racism resolution. Before that, you had Malik Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party making the most overtly racist statements recorded in a very long time. And THAT, on the heels of Eric Holder's dismissal of the the Black Panther voter intimidation case.

This entire series of events has been one disaster after another for Obama, and he's clearly helpless to do anything about it.
