They are not hunting endangered whales, so that is not a concern. My question is really more about how many people are against hunting whales period, like they are special place in the galactic universe or something.

Whales in international waters belong to everyone, and if we all killed as many as Japan there would be none left.
Japan has continually behaved in a sleazy manner about whaling and I for one vote for Paul Watson on this issue.
And it was indeed from Japan. So they are hunting and killing endangered whales.
Something about being hitched to a pissed-off whale in the dark in an open dingy in the deep just pulls your gonads up around your throat.
