I agree with Cantor, the positions of the tea parties, there are a bunch of them, aren't consistant, and as a floor leader it's his job to push the positions of the GOP on particular issues. As to the billboards, they're fun, but they don't win votes in the middle.

“Cantor praised Bachmann for providing “another avenue for people to have their voices heard” but said he thinks the tea party is better left outside Washington. “

I like Cantor but I disagree with him on this subject.

Government, the political process and the GOP are broken. They need to be fixed. The problem with Washington insiders is that they don't want “outsiders”, in this case, the people who pay their salaries and provide the tax dollars they dispense so liberally, to have too much of a say in government and how it operates.

Too bad.

Its time for an accounting.

The Tea Party needs to become better organized, to recruit MORE “independents” into the GOP, and and USE THEM to take over the primary process by ejecting career politicians from their long enjoyed sinecures.

Things will NEVER change unless this happens.

All too often, the GOP is merely a HINDERANCE to the successful thwarting of leftist activities by the Democrats because long term GOP incumbents like Grassly, Hatch, McCain, etc, are far more concerned with “not rocking the boat” and aggravating the mainstream media - which hates them anyway - AND with maintaining their sinecures than with effectively rolling back the flood of unconstitutional activities undertaken the Federal Level through years of abuse by Congress, the various Presidents and the power mad Federal Courts.

They simply do not support the views of their constituents with any degree of real; effectiveness, and use their power of the incumbency and tactful employment of constituent services to hang onto their seats.

What apparently is going on in Arizona with John McCain is a sample of their tactics.
