Heck, we don’t even have trash pick-up out here. We have to drop it off at dump stations ourselves.
I seem to recall that one of the richest community in the San Francisco Bay area, Marin, does that as well. They have to take their trash to a collection point (has something to do with the narrow roads or some such thing).
Where we live in MA. you can have private pick-up or take take your garbage to the dump or as the town prefers”the recycling center”. I never had a problem with this because you could pretty much get rid of your trash 5 days a week. Well, now you have to have a designated blue bag in order to dump your stuff and trust me they have people patrolling to make sure you don’t use a black bag.
