Washington D.C.- Congressman Steve King (R-IA) today announced that efforts to force the House of Representatives to vote on legislation providing for a 100% repeal of Obamacare continued to gain momentum, with the addition of the 153rd signature. Once the discharge petition reaches 218 signatures, Speaker Pelosi will not be able to prevent the repeal legislation from receiving, and passing, a vote on the floor.
Efforts to repeal the deeply unpopular Obamacare bill continue to gather momentum, said King. We now have 153 Members of the House of Representatives on record calling for full repeal of Obamacare, including Republican Leader Boehner, Republican Whip Cantor and GOP Conference Chairman Pence. I expect these numbers to continue to swell."
A list of Members who have signed on to the legislation (organized by state) has been provided below:

Awesome. Just awesome.
There life in old Lady Liberty yet.
My (Dem) Rep. Glenn Nye, is not on that list. I think I should write the gentleman.
The Democrats have a solid majority in the House.
What makes anyone think King’s measure will gain a majority?
Now, that’s a piece of news I like. All the more reason to vote in a landslide of R’s in November.
And then, if the Senate will cooperate...
Glory! Glory! Glory! “The Shining City on the Hill” is fighting back.
There’s a little election coming up. “I will sign” sure sounds like a nice campaign promise.
“The Democrats have a solid majority in the House.”
Not for long.
Nye was swept in with 0bama, replacing a good Republican representative, Thelma Drake. 0bama's unpopularity should sweep Nye out in November.
You think the President will sign the legislation?
First Tuesday in November?
OF course not. That doesn’t mean you don’t work your tail off to get everyone on record, and start peeling away democrats. This thing MUST be killed. And the time to start organizing for it started the day it was signed.
What makes anyone think Kings measure will gain a majority?
It shows that after the Republicans secure a majority in the House, they stand a VERY good chance of getting it repealed or at least de-funded (which would have the same result).
Also there are a lot of worried Democrats that now have a reason to be even more worried if they don't join this list.
California is beating Texas by one.
I listened to Rep. King speak at an Omaha TEA party rally. Then I did some research on him. VERY impressed!
I hope he takes your advice!
He is my Rep. too. I think I will write him as well....
Boy, do I ever miss Thelma Drake....I wish she would run again.
November
We need to start an all out assualt on all fronts. Healthcare, financial reform, any czar skippy might have put in place like the BOZO at DOJ.
I just had the thought that repealing Obamacare would probably be beneficial for Obama come 2012. I can imagine all the speeches he would give telling the sheeple of America “I tried to give you free healthcare, but the racist Republicans took it away”.
