Is that pic German, or Russian perhaps? The Cheka guys in old russia were fond of doing this, and then drowning themselves in vodka afterwards to “deal” with the guilt of killing unarmed women and children.

There was a Russian movie that came out in the early 90s, called “The Chekist”, one of the most depressing movies you’ll ever see.
