This is beyond shameful. The relatives of those who perished suffered enough losing their family members; our government lying about the release is adding insult to injury.

Wasn’t this already confirmed, at least admitted back when it happened? I recall threads here when the guy was getting out, we were all criticizing, my memory has it that not only did the White House okay the release, but in her role as Sec of State, former NY Senator Hillary Clinton had given her okay. Somewhere in the memory banks is Schumer giving some okee dokee as well — I guess I’m having a hard time understanding this “What, who, gee?” unless it’s the BP connection, the release because of an oil deal part of it.

One of my uncles’ was supposed to be on PanAm 103 and just missed it because his connecting flight was delayed.

Helping to release this animal just shows how incompetent the administraton is and how depraved it’s ideology.

Don’t really have a problem with this one, actually, considering that it has always looked really likely that Libya had nothing to do with it and it was Iran who was behind the attack (and this isn’t a conspiracy theory, google for Iran Lockerbie and there’s boatloads of newspaper articles about it).

I mean this looks terrible that the only guy who was convicted of a civilian bombing is sent back to live a normal life, but it’s Iran that is the guilty party here.

Wasn’t there an attempt to blame BP for the release about a week or two ago?

You need to pay to get to the story, Sunday Times is by subscription.

But they DO list it as their top feature.

It would be interesting to see what wasn't put in writing by our diplomats.

This letter is probably a red herring to cover up much worse.

THE US government secretly advised Scottish ministers it would be "far preferable" to free the Lockerbie bomber than jail him in Libya.

Ruh-roh! Now, WHY would they prefer this terrorist be released vs imprisoned in a Libyan prison? Didn't he receive a hero's welcome when he returned?

Well what should anyone expect, this is the political class in action. When they want something done which favors their agenda, being sneaks, cheats and lairs is just one part of the racket.

This is a clear lesson in Lenin/Alinsky/DNC Political Class 101, make an excuse then doing what you damn well please and let others worry about why it was done. Everyone should be asking why this was done in this manner while following the money. The political class will sell out anyone and everyone as long as it fits their agenda and can be useful.

See example Lt. Col. Chessani vs. DNC;
