Because the information in them can cause grave damage to the United States. You and I don’t need to read them. Our enemies certainly want to.

First off, if you don’t read them, how do you know the info in them “can cause grave damage to the United States.” As to whether we need to read them, well, it depends on your perspective.
I think a free people need good information to have a good government, and I think there is a some good information in these papers, from what I have read.
