“It’s that vital, not to Democrats, not to Republicans, but to the future of people’s faith in the functioning of this government.”

Wouldn’t believe an utterance from this man even if it were on his last breath.

Riiiight, Chuckie. I don't see citizens showing up on the Capitol Lawn by the tens and hundreds of thousands to protest in favor of this bill because they doubt their government.

However, I DO see those numbers of citizens showing up to protest in favor of the TEA Party agenda, because they doubt their government.

Sen. Charles Schumer, the sponsor of the stalled campaign finance bill, promised Tuesday that Democrats would hold round-after-round of votes on it until it passes.

It’s always amusing how the most partisan are the ones always bellowing about how they know best for ALL The People. Schumer manages to be both craven AND a blowhard.

Don’t worry.

I’m sure they’re cutting deals with the usual suspects as we speak.

They’ll muzzle the little people yet. :)

Very good. I hope The dems keep bringing it to a vote for the next two or three years, as long as it fails every time. Hopefully the Senate will do nothing else during this time.

Just like the EU facists. A country votes no - they will keep voting until they “win.”

"Democrats would hold round-after-round of votes on it until it passes"

Hey, it worked for Al Franken. It worked for Maria Cantwell. It almost worked for Al Gore until those jackbooted Supremes stomped in after the 334th recount just when Marge the myopic chad-counter was divining the intent of a shoebox of butterfly ballots someone happened to find on the doorstep. It's a grand tradition!

It may have failed, but it can be brought back.

By Senator Reid voting against cloture, he can bring the bill back under archane Senate rules...
