Illegal immigrants are reportedly fleeing Arizona this week, trying to avoid getting caught when the state's tough new immigration law takes effect on Thursday, making it a crime to be in the state without proper papers and requiring police to investigate suspected violators. Does the exodus mean that the law is already working, or that it's creating the injustices and chaos that critics feared? (Watch a local report about fleeing immigrants)
This proves the government can stop illegal immigration if it tries: If Arizona lawmakers were aiming to "encourage illegal immigrants to leave Arizona," says Ed Morrissey in Hot Air, "they may claim success even before the first law-enforcement records check takes place." This just proves that if the Obama administration "took its job seriously rather than look to pander to Hispanic voters with its deliberate incompetence on immigration enforcement, the issue would mostly resolve itself with little effort."
"Is Arizona's law working already?"
Creating fear of discrimination is nothing to celebrate: Of course people are fleeing Arizona and moving to more friendly states, says Randall Amster in The Huffington Post. With their unnecessarily "harsh" law, the state's lawmakers have told "nonwhites that they are unwelcome." Immigrants from neighboring Mexico and elsewhere, legal and illegal, know they'll soon be the victims of racial profiling.
"Phoenix, we have a problem ..."
Let's not overstate the law's effects: Yes, "immigrants are fleeing state," says Eve Conant in Newsweek. But there are other factors at play, including beefed up federal border enforcement and the tougher U.S. job market. Gov. Jan Brewer and the law's other proponents should consider the big picture before claiming credit for "clearing Arizona of illegal immigrants."
"Immigrants flee Arizona as faith groups and lawyers descend"
LOL. I thought “Rush to get out ...” meant that Rush Limbaugh was fleeing Arizona, like he left New York.
Many illegals will go to other states instead of going home. When Mexico offers their people welfare, we won’t see so much of them. No, I’m not holding my breath.
***EXTRACTION ALERT***
Maybe he can hook up with that Sex Crazed Poodle and massage his ego.

Typical Leftist idiot with nothing intelligent to state babbles nonsense.
It means that illegal aliens will self-deport if they believe the law is to be enforced where they live. If immigration laws were enforced nationwide and the border enforced effectively, the problem will gradually dwindle to a tiny fraction of what it is now.
...I was thinking today if this law stands as it should, and those who are there illegally leave, it would be a HAVEN for retirees!!! What a place that will be!!
So, the ACLU is scaring the illegals out of AZ?
Priceless.
.
It sure is...
That’s actually a good point. They’ve yelled and screamed so much like little children that they’ve probably scared the daylights out of the illegals and those thinking of coming here.
Finally, liberals good for something besides being the butts of jokes.
Wonder where the pigeons will roost now?
The term...sanctuary city comes to mind.
.
What’s Rush doing in Arizona, and why would he want to get out? ;)
Arizona has come up with a way to herd them all to California.
I wish thay could pass this in all 50 states...especially california...that would be beautiful

FYI, my wife is a nurse at a very large local hospital in Phoenix. In fact, the number of Hispanics showing up at ER’s has dwindled by a huge amount recently. And many of these were rude and demanding patients with an entitlement mentality, I might add.
We can’t be sure all of those formerly clogging the local ER’s have left the state — certainly some have, and no doubt some are dealing with their ailments at home, I suspect.
